Ted Passon

Ted Passon is a 22 year-old filmmaker who has exhibited his works in festivals and galleries internationally including the San Francisco Independent Film Festival, The Slamdance On-Line Film Festival, the Museo Tomayo Arte de Contemporeano in Mexico City, and the Institute of Contemporary Art of Philadelphia.

His latest film, 'Robot Boy", won awards for "Best Senior Thesis Film" and "Best Director" at the 2003 Temple University Film Festival. "Robot Boy" also had its world premiere in June 2003 at the very first student film festival in Fiji, which Ted curated and presented personally at the 180 Meridian Cinema; now owned and operated by independent film guru, John Pierson.

Ted has curated film screenings for the New York Underground Film Festival; the touring Unamerican Film Festival, which premiered just across the street from the 55th Cannes Film Festival; and for two years was the director of the Derek Freese High School Film and Video Festival. He is currently an undergraduate Film and Media Arts student at Temple University, where in 2002 he initiated a guest lecture series to raise money for film student scholarships. Guests included: Spike Lee, Garrett Brown, Annie Sprinkle, and renowned experimental film curator Astria Suparak. He is also the director of the "Celluloid Sideshow" film screening series at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
