Chuck Reinhardt is a teacher of history in Pine Bush public schools, Pine Bush, New York. He became interested in impressionistic art and sculpture while hitch-hiking throughout Europe in the 60's. He has returned to Europe often, including last summer to do volunteer work with Balkan refugees in Bosnia. The title is inspired by the dancing bears used by the rock band, "Grateful Dead". The bright colors of the bear were inspired by Van Gogh's vivid rich paintings, and his expressive use of color.
